What is the difference between CLEP and DSST?

Many of you have wanted to know what the difference is between CLEP and DSST or DANTES. It's very simple as there are only a few differences.

They both are tests for college credit.

Anyone (at any age) can take either a CLEP or a DSST test.

Basically they are made by two different companies and cover different subject areas. DSST is also statistically easier since their answer choices are A-D, not A-E like CLEP.

However, both tests are not well known. Typically most students find out about them through word of mouth, deep research in college tuition savings, or (less likely) from a college advisor.
